As a mom of then 2, now 3, I was tired of having to cross the border to get great clothes for my kids and the newest and coolest baby gear! I felt like I had to leave the city to do all my shopping! In the summer of 2009, I decided to change that! Giving up my career as a Chartered Accountant, I decided to put all of my effort into bringing Applebum to life! Applebum kidstyle + baby boutique opened its doors on October 7, 2009. Applebum aims to outfit your future stylemakers from birth to age 14 (sizes 0 to 18). We have clothing, shoes, accessories, gear, home/room decor, and a few other things you need along the way! Applebum carries a wide variety of apparel brands! We have lines for every occasion from everyday play to parties on the weekend! We carry affordable brands to high-end brands and many in between! We have lines that let kids look like kids and brands that let kids look, well, like mini-moms. We have brands for girly-girls, tomboys, fashionista’s, sporty dudes, cool dudes...as well as brands for boys just wanting to be boys! Every brand we carry has something special that we want to share with everyone! We have Bench, Diesel, Ripzone, Biscotti/KateMack, Blu, Appaman, Juicy Couture, it!, and my personal favourite Tea! If you have never heard of Tea, you need to come and check it out! It is the best line for little girls that is out there...and they have great boys things too!!! If it is shoes you need, we have those too...but only ones that are good for your feet! Geox, Striderite and Pediped are the only ones that have passed our test!! Weather friendly boots for spring and winter include Ugg and Hunter! The baby gear selection started off as a small grouping of my personal favourites! All the items I carried were products I used, loved and wanted to make sure other moms knew about! The baby gear section has grown significantly since we opened but consists of my personal favourites, referrals from friends and some of the coolest products on the market! You have to check it out! Everyone always asks where the inspiration for the name came from! Applebum is named after my daughter who we nicknamed Abby Applebum when she was little!
